Burma in 2011 shows signs of change..  explosion of motorcycles from China..  more luxury hotels and thus more  tourists. New houses replacing  thatch huts and internet , satellite tv dishes. Road expansion and   extreme gold panning before a planned hydroelectric dam is built. The need for schools and doctors has not diminished, and so Jamie’s school is much appreciated by the village.
